Update – February 4th
I am so sorry, I am
late to update.
I got a call yesterday
afternoon from (you know who you are) one of our number
one fans, she was just
‘checking in.’ “Your website has changed, what does it mean?
When are we getting broadband?” And patiently she
listens to this weeks story, as do many calls during the
week...but 'she' is one of the first of the many that started this
'hurry and wait' along with us.
Let me catch you up.
The first of this week
we received notice that our Executive Summary of our project 'ShowMe
Broadband' was being used as an example for future broadband
stimulus applications.
There is no better
honor than to be recognized by a fellow ‘patron of the arts.’
In the industry of
‘ISP’ we have had our Ups and Downs, I mean that literally.
I have been fortunate,
or not at times, to ride this roller coaster, we call the
Internet. From the days of
9800 baud modem, Bill Gates, and Wi-Fi (some were really
confused...), I hung on for dear life. Technology was
changing in the blink of an eye.
The industry of ‘ISP’
has been guided by the temperate temperatures of industry
publications. ISP-Planet was one of those publications.
Through the 1996
Telecommunications act, the dot com and subsequent bomb,
ISP-Planet was a cornucopia of opinion, advertising and knowledge.
We are honored that
one of those founders saw what we had to say, was worth saying,
when we proposed our broadband stimulus project for Southeast
Missouri.
Thank you Alex!
